An exciting opportunity exists for a Civil Engineer in our Engineering Services department to help provide Infrastructure and Drainage solutions to the community.

The role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who will work with our Engineering Services team to effectively deliver Infrastructure and Drainage services for the community. There will also be opportunity to work with other teams to provide traffic and strategic infrastructure solutions.

You will be responsible in:

·         Assisting the Engineering services team in providing advice and formulate recommendations on town planning proposals and referrals with regard to Infrastructure Assets and drainage impacts.

·         Assisting in undertaking assessment and approval of infrastructure designs relating to subdivisions and private developments.

·         Assisting the Engineering services team in managing the statutory procedures required for issuing Civil Works completion notifications for subdivisions and private developments. This encompasses the handover process for developments, including monitoring maintenance timeline’s, stakeholder acceptance of works and to ensure all relevant documents are submitted in compliance with Council policies, strategies, guidelines and specifications

·         Supporting traffic team where required with the minor traffic investigations in relation to customer requests.

·         Responding positively and punctually within specified timelines to customer enquiries and requests.


About you

To be successful in the Infrastructure Engineer role you will bring:

·         Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or equivalent

·         A high level of computer literacy and personal computer application experience

·         Knowledge of Local Government procedures, policies, systems and regulations.

·         Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent quality Customer service

·         Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

·         Sound communication skills - oral and report writing and ability to communicate effectively and politely with customers


You will need to provide evidence of your right to work in Australia, certified copies of your qualifications, and a current Driver Licence. You must also be willing to provide a Pre-Employment Health Declaration and undertake a National Police Record Check and a working with children check.
