$87,194.54 per annum plus super

 

An exciting opportunity exists in our Community Strengthening Department to coordinate a vibrant community centre that offers programs that enhance the quality of life, skills, knowledge and wellbeing of residents and builds the capacity of the Frankston City community.

A little about the role

Your main responsibilities will include to: 

  • Engage and partner with diverse community and stakeholders to develop programs and projects to build community capacity and optimise health and wellbeing.
  • Deliver a vast array of programs, services and activities in response to community needs.
  • Manage all aspects of the Centre (including budget and risks) to ensure that it operates in a fair, equitable, efficient and effective manner.
  • Conduct research (including user statistics; regular consultations and demographic analysis) to increase participation in the Centre and knowledge of community trends and issues.
  • Coordinate and provide leadership to Centre staff and manage relevant staff issues in accordance with Council’s procedures and requirements fostering a cohesive team approach to all activities.

What we are looking for? 
You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social work or a related field, substantial community development experience including working with diverse populations, and experience working in a community centre or similar environment would be preferable.

You will be have excellent people management skills, and have a comprehensive understanding of community development principles.
