What we are looking for?

Council is looking for a Section Leader Tree Maintenance within the Operations Department with relevant qualifications, field experience, technical knowledge and leadership skills, who will be responsible for planning and delivering tree maintenance programs for over 65,000 trees on council managed land. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • To plan and deliver high quality tree maintenance programs including delivering the road management plan, electrical line clearance management plan and tree planting programs.
  • To provide operational input and technical arboricultural advice for the development of arborist reports, strategies, policies, procedures, standards and design of Council’s Tree management programs
  • To plan, lead and manage the Tree Maintenance Section of the Operations Department

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Arboriculture or similar field, preferably a Diploma or Degree or equivalent
  • Substantial experience in Tree Management and adhering to pruning standards (AS4373);
  • Proven substantial experience leading a team of people;
  • Substantial experience writing reports of a technical nature;
  • Demonstrated financial management experience
