What we are looking for?

 

Council is looking for a Contracts and Procurement Officer within the Property, Procurement and Risk Department who will be responsible for facilitating procurement activities. Your main responsibilities will include:  

  • Provide advice, assistance, support to and facilitate all aspects of the tendering and procurement processes of departments to ensure compliance with Council’s Procurement Policy and Strategy and probity, fairness and integrity in all procurement procedures
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with all procurement activities and partner with, assist and support other departments in the implementation of all aspects of Council’s Procurement Policy and Strategy to ensure compliance and Best Value for money
  • Participating in the monitoring and review of procurement and tendering arrangements, recommending and implementing improvements to improve competition, and conducting training, as appropriate

 

About you

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a procurement role with Local Government experience favourable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport with stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Finance Systems, Contracting Systems and e-tendering systems
